Six Lincoln Trail College Students Honored
Six Lincoln Trail College students were honored with the College’s most prestigious student awards on April 14. Alexis Davis was awarded the Joseph C. Piland Excellence in Scholarship Award, Guadalupe Amicone, Tomas Bascon, and Juan Solivellas were awarded the J. Rod Harmon Excellence in Service Award, and Leticia Guimaraes and Clint Wickliffe were awarded the Bev L. Turkal Excellence in Leadership Award.

The Arts at Lincoln Trail College Hosting Two Spring Concerts
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College will host a part of concerts in April. The Spring Choral Concert is on April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater and the Spring Instrumental Ensemble Concert is on April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

Lincoln Trail College's Children's Summer Theater Registration Date Announced
Registration for Lincoln Trail College’s Children’s Summer Theater program will take place from 8-10 a.m. on April 22. Registration will take place in the Zwermann Arts Center.
The popular theater camp for children entering 1st-9th grades begins May 29 and runs through June 23. There are two shows this year: Willy Wonka Kids and Newsies, Jr.

Broadband Telecom Program Remains Uninterrupted Despite Tornado Damage
On March 31st, a tornado wreaked havoc on Lincoln Trail College's Crisp Center, the home of the Broadband Telecom program. Despite the destruction, the college is pleased to announce that the semester will continue as scheduled.

South Pacific Opens This Weekend at Lincoln Trail College
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College is putting final preparations together for their spring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific.” Premiering on Broadway in 1949, this classic musical is set during WWII and deals with the subject of racial prejudice – a topic that finds relevancy today. The show features well-known songs such as, “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Bali Ha’i,” “Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair,” and “Nothing Like a Dame.” Opening night for this Pulitzer Award-winning musical is Friday, March 24 with a 7:00 p.m. performance followed by a 7:00 p.m.

District-Wide Collaborative Events Lead To Classroom Innovations
Faculty across the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District are working more collaboratively and that effort will soon pay off at Lincoln Trail College. Students enrolled in Anatomy and Psychology classes will be able to learn more about the brain using an electroencephalogram.

Local Students Benefit From Lincoln Trail College's International Program
Three international students at Lincoln Trail College are using their native language to help students at Robinson High School. The students, from Argentina, Bolivia, and Spain, are helping tutor high school students learning Spanish.
Guadalupe Amicone, Tomas Bascon, and Juan Solivellas visit RHS each Thursday to work with dual-credit students enrolled in Spanish II. The three provide help with listening and speaking skills, verb tenses, and generally understanding the Spanish language.

Amicone Elected As Student Trustee to IECC Board of Trustees
Lincoln Trail College student Guadalupe Amicone won a four-way race to become the next Student Representative to serve on the Illinois Eastern Community College’s Board of Trustees. Amicone will take office at April’s meeting at Lincoln Trail College.
