Reviewing a course that has not run yet? This checklist evaluates course design. For items about course delivery, such as announcements, grading of participation, or video use, look for a documented plan (for example in the syllabus, schedule, or course map) rather than evidence that the activity has already happened. Features such as video, graded participation, weekly announcements, or a particular Canvas tool are not required to earn credit when the course design meets the learning goals another way.
Updates in progress: CETL is revising this checklist to add Not Applicable options, evidence and comment fields, critical requirements, and hybrid course guidance. A Hybrid Course Design Checklist is under development. Contact cetl@iecc.edu with questions or feedback.
