Additional Information

Expenses
All costs are estimated and subject to change without notice. Please be prepared to pay all tuition and fees on the first day of classes. Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are accepted.  Expense estimates can be found in the Admission Application packet.

Arrival
International students must arrive at IECC one to two weeks before classes begin so they can attend the required orientations. The college must know the date and time of your planned arrival. An International Student Program Staff (ISPS) representative rom IECC will meet you at the Evansville, Indiana airport.

English Proficiency
IECC does not require an official TOEFL score to apply. If a student’s first language is not English, they will be tested for English proficiency upon arrival. Students who do not have a satisfactory score will be required to enroll in the intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program. A minimum English proficiency score will be required to enroll in select academic classes.   Please refer to the English as a Second Language web page for more information.

College Coursework
College coursework and advancement toward a degree is measured in terms of semester (credit) hours. The majority of classes are three to four credit hours each. International students must enroll in a full course load (12 semester hours) in order to maintain and keep current visa status. This requirement comes from the U.S. Immigration Office for students on the F-1 visa.

Medical Insurance
IECC requires all international students to purchase medical/hospitalization insurance upon arrival, to protect students from the high cost of health care in the United States. If you have family coverage which covers you while you are in the United States, bring a copy of the policy and coverage information with you.
