LTC Hosting Walk-In Wednesdays
Lincoln Trail College is once again making it easy for students to prepare for the Fall 2024 Semester. LTC is offering Walk-In Wednesdays on four Wednesdays in June and July for people to take care of a variety of things to help them get ready for the Fall. “The beauty of Walk-In Wednesdays is that you don’t need an appointment,” said Lincoln Trail College Coordinator of Marketing and Public Information Chris Forde. “You can come in and our experts will help you.”

LTC Offering Dance Camps
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College is offering a trio of dance camps for students ages 14-18. Each class will be taught by a different instructor and will cover a different type of dance. Students will learn about the history of that style and have the opportunity to dance it during the camp. The first camp is July 13 and covers musical theater choreography. The second camp is July 20 and covers jazz dancing and the final camp is July 27 and covers modern dance. Each camp runs from 12-4 p.m. and the cost of each camp is $20.

LTC Phi Theta Kappa Earns Awards
Lincoln Trail College’s Alpha Iota Epsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was recognized with some Illinois Regional Awards. LTC’s chapter was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter and earned an Honors in Action Project Award. Chapter President Guadalupe Amicone was named a 2023-2024 Outstanding Officer.

Lincoln Trail College Spring 2024 Honors
Lincoln Trail College has released its academic honor lists for the Spring 2024 Semester. Three lists have been established by Illinois Eastern Community Colleges to indicate students who have achieved academic excellence. They are the Chancellor’s Honors List, the President’s Academic Honors List, and the Dean’s Academic Honors List. To qualify for any of the honor lists, a student must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) and must be taking college-level classes.

LTC Offering Welding Classes in June
People wanting to learn how to weld, brush up on their welding skills, and create art from metal will have an opportunity to do that through Lincoln Trail College this summer. LTC is offering a pair of community education classes for people to experience welding. Welding 101 will be offered Tuesday evenings in June from 5:30-7 p.m. at the McCoy Welding Center. Jackson Hemrich will lead the class that offers an introduction to the basics of welding.

LTC Plans Fun Summer Classes for Kids
Lincoln Trail College is planning a series of fun programs for children this summer. The first class is Crochet for Youth and it runs from June 3-6 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The class is geared for kids in grades 1-4 and is led by Betty Engel. Students will learn the basics of crocheting. They will need to bring a size I hook and one skein of acrylic yarn for the class. Crochet for Youth costs $20 and has a May 29 registration deadline.

LTC Prepares for 54th Annual Commencement
Lincoln Trail College’s 54th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sports Center and Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The event will also be streamed live at youtube.com/lincolntrailcollege. Lincoln Trail College President Tona Ambrose will preside over the ceremony and will give the welcome. Dr. Josh Pack, who serves as an adjunct speech instructor, is giving the inspirational reading.

LTC Wins Several Awards at FBLA State Leadership Conference
Four Lincoln Trail College Future Business Leaders of American Collegiate students earned seven awards at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Effingham. Additionally, a Lincoln Trail College alumnus was recognized at the event. Madisyn McIntosh placed first in Foundations of Management. Vasco Bernardes placed second in Sports Management and Marketing and second in Foundations of Communications. Krista Phillips placed third in Foundations of Marketing.
