LTC Prepares for 54th Annual Commencement
Lincoln Trail College’s 54th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sports Center and Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The event will also be streamed live at youtube.com/lincolntrailcollege. Lincoln Trail College President Tona Ambrose will preside over the ceremony and will give the welcome. Dr. Josh Pack, who serves as an adjunct speech instructor, is giving the inspirational reading.

LTC Wins Several Awards at FBLA State Leadership Conference
Four Lincoln Trail College Future Business Leaders of American Collegiate students earned seven awards at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Effingham. Additionally, a Lincoln Trail College alumnus was recognized at the event. Madisyn McIntosh placed first in Foundations of Management. Vasco Bernardes placed second in Sports Management and Marketing and second in Foundations of Communications. Krista Phillips placed third in Foundations of Marketing.

LTC Adds Solar-Powered Charging Stations
Students and people visiting Lincoln Trail College will have a new way to charge their devices thanks to a grant from the Illinois Green Economy Network. LTC received a $63,695 grant to purchase solar-powered charging stations.   LTC purchased four solar-powered picnic tables and two free-standing charging stations. Each station offers a 110-volt outlet, USB A and C ports, and wireless charging pads for people to recharge and power their portable devices.

LTC Jazz Band Concert April 30
Lincoln Trail College’s Spring Jazz Band Concert will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The Lincoln Trail College Pep Band will open the concert with “Instant Concert” with bits of 30 familiar tunes played in three minutes. They will also play a medley of well-known spirituals and a rousing march. The LTC Jazz Band will join the Pep Band for a special arrangement by Allan Horney of “My Funny Valentine” with Yvonne Newlin on vocals.

Lincoln Trail College Spring Choral Concert
Lincoln Trail College’s Spring Choral Concert: Land, Sea, and Sky will take place on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The concert will feature the Lincoln Trail College Community Choir, Camerata, and the Singing Seniors, under the direction of John McCarty and Brenda Harris with Yvonne Newlin and Harris on piano.

LTC Children's Summer Theater Registration
Lincoln Trail College is preparing for two Children’s Summer Theater productions this June.   Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo KIDS is scheduled for children entering 1st – entering 5th grade, meeting weekdays from May 28th – June 28th from 9 a.m.-11 am. Show times will be June 27th and 28th at 7 p.m.

LTC Enjoys Total Eclipse
Lincoln Trail College students and employees took part in a once-in-a-lifetime event with the April 8 total solar eclipse. While the day was an online learning day, there was still no shortage of activity on the campus, which was in the path of totality. The Statesmen Grill offered an eclipse-themed menu. LTC offered eclipse-themed snacks during the event and also played eclipse-themed music.
BWXT Representatives talk with LTC welding students

BWXT Visits LTC Welding Program, Makes Donation
Two representatives from BWX Technologies’ Mt. Vernon, Ind. location visited Lincoln Trail College’s welding program to talk with students and make a donation.  Josh Duncan and Jared Smith talked to students about BWXT work environment. The company does Naval nuclear work, powering submarines and aircraft carriers. They also design and fabricate specialty nuclear and non-nuclear components for United States government, commercial, and university locations.
