OCC Student Captures Second Place in Welding Competition
Olney Central College student Landyn Piercefield was among the top finishers in the Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center Welding Competition in Evansville. The OCC sophomore captured second place in the Apprentice Category, which is open to those ages 18-22. “I really enjoyed the competition,” Piercefield said. “It shows you where you stand in comparison to other welders your age. I like seeing where I stand and trying to improve my skills.”

OCC Ignite Curiosity Summer Camps Start May 30
Dive into a world of exploration and excitement with Olney Central College’s Ignite Curiosity Summer Camps! These fun-filled, one-day camps offer an excellent opportunity for students to explore their interests and hobbies while having a great time with peers. Students can attend just one camp or all seven while engaging in plenty of hands-on activities under the guidance of OCC instructors. All camps will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Camps available include: Metaling Around – Welding | Grades 7-12

OCC 60th Commencement May 10
Olney Central College will hold its 60th commencement exercises at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10 in the OCC Gymnasium. Friends and relatives of the graduates are invited to attend. OCC Interim Dean of Instruction Amy Tarr will give the welcoming remarks. Other speakers include OCC President Chris Simpson and OCC Alumnus Dr. Tanner Miller, who will give the Commencement Address.

Register Now for OCC Men's Basketball Youth Camps
OCC Men's Basketball will offer Summer Youth Camps for boys and girls entering Grades 1-10. The Girls Camp will meet June 15-17 and the Boys Camp will meet June 18-20. LTC Prepares for 54th Annual Commencement
Lincoln Trail College’s 54th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sports Center and Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The event will also be streamed live at youtube.com/lincolntrailcollege. Lincoln Trail College President Tona Ambrose will preside over the ceremony and will give the welcome. Dr. Josh Pack, who serves as an adjunct speech instructor, is giving the inspirational reading.

WVC Farm Bureau Named Outstanding Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Farm Bureau recently named Wabash Valley Collegiate Farm Bureau as the Outstanding Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Outstanding Chapter Award recognizes the top Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter for their efforts in actively implementing the mission and goals of Illinois Collegiate Farm Bureau while making strides to both set and execute their chapter specific goals over the course of the academic year.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Wabash Valley College hosted its highly anticipated annual Spring Fest, drawing students, staff, and faculty to gather outside of Main Hall for a day filled with fun, food, and fellowship. The event, which ran from 10am to 2pm, offered a variety of activities and attractions for everyone to enjoy.

OCC Spring Musical Theater Showcase May 3
Join the Olney Central College Music Department as the Concert Choir and Musical Theater Workshop students present their Spring Musical Theater Showcase at 7 p.m. on May 3 in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center. “The showcase is a chance for these students to have leading roles and gain experience in performing,” said OCC Director of Choral Activities Dr. Andrew Pittman. “Everyone is featured at least once, giving them a chance to shine.”
