What Is ICAPS?
Build academic skills while beginning college-level career training, with instructors and support staff working together to help you succeed.
ICAPS stands for Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System. It combines adult education, career training, and student support in one coordinated pathway.
How ICAPS Works
Eligible students participate in adult education and a college career course during the same period. Instead of waiting to finish one before beginning the other, you build academic and job-ready skills together.
Your instructors coordinate lessons so reading, writing, math, and workplace skills support the technical training in your career program.

ICAPS may be a good fit if you want to strengthen your academic skills, prepare for the GED® exam, or improve your English while beginning career training. Available pathways and eligibility can vary. IECC Adult Education staff can help you understand your options.
Adult Education and Family Literacy classes and supportive services are offered at no cost to students. Enrollment includes required assessments for placement, advisement, and referrals. Students younger than 18 must meet additional enrollment requirements.
