Lincoln Trail College Offering Five Tuition-Free Classes This Summer
Lincoln Trail College is giving students a chance to save money while taking important college classes this summer. The College is offering five classes tuition-free in the Summer 2023 Semester.

Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Experiences Four Semesters of Enrollment Gains
At a time when college enrollment is declining nationwide, Illinois Eastern Community Colleges has had four consecutive semesters of enrollment gains.. District-wide enrollment is up  1.69 percent this Spring as compared to the Spring of 2022. “I am obviously very pleased with the positive trend in our enrollment,” said IECC Chancellor Dr. Ryan Gower. “Andrea Loll and her team have done an excellent job developing a plan and building relationships with area schools and prospective students.”

District-Wide Collaborative Events Lead To Classroom Innovations
Faculty across the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District are working more collaboratively and that effort will soon pay off at Lincoln Trail College. Students enrolled in Anatomy and Psychology classes will be able to learn more about the brain using an electroencephalogram.

Local Students Benefit From Lincoln Trail College's International Program
Three international students at Lincoln Trail College are using their native language to help students at Robinson High School. The students, from Argentina, Bolivia, and Spain, are helping tutor high school students learning Spanish.   Guadalupe Amicone, Tomas Bascon, and Juan Solivellas visit RHS each Thursday to work with dual-credit students enrolled in Spanish II. The three provide help with listening and speaking skills, verb tenses, and generally understanding the Spanish language.

IECC hosts Illinois’ Southern Region TRIO Day event
145 low-income and first-generation TRIO students and graduates sponsored by 10 Southern Illinois Colleges participated in the 2023 National TRIO Day of Service on February 25, 2023. Students who attended were inspired to continue their individual paths to success by learning from current TRIO mentors as well as TRIO alumni who are TRIO legacies and walking success stories. They were encouraged to take what they learned and prove that they can also become a “Walking Success Story” and grow into future TRIO leaders for those that follow in their footsteps.

Amicone Elected As Student Trustee to IECC Board of Trustees
Lincoln Trail College student Guadalupe Amicone won a four-way race to become the next Student Representative to serve on the Illinois Eastern Community College’s Board of Trustees. Amicone will take office at April’s meeting at Lincoln Trail College.

Lincoln Trail College Ranked Number 5 Community College in Illinois
College rankings agency Intelligent released its list of the best community colleges in Illinois and they rated Lincoln Trail College as number five. They also gave LTC the award of Best for Transfer Students.   “I’m proud to see this ranking and I’m not surprised,” said Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Ryan Gower. “The faculty and staff at Lincoln Trail College are dedicated to the success of our students and it shows. Organizations like Intelligent recognize the quality of education available at LTC.”

8-Week Mid-Semester Classes Start March 13
Olney Central College is offering several 8-week mid-semester classes starting March 13. Mid-semester courses are ideal for students who may have dropped a course this spring or for those who need an additional class to graduate. In-Person classes include: BUS 1101 Introduction to Business, noon to 12:50 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday MTH 1103 Liberal Arts Math, 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday Online courses available include: ACC 1203 QuickBooks II ENG 1101 Introduction to Composition

History's Greatest Mysteries Episode Featuring OCC Professor to Air February 13
An episode of History’s Greatest Mysteries featuring Olney Central College Professor David Denton will air on The History Channel at 9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central on Monday, February 13. The episode will explore President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, with Denton sharing insights and discoveries he has made through his extensive research into Kennedy’s death.

Lincoln Trail College Celebrates Career and Technical Education Month
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and Lincoln Trail College is joining other community colleges across the state in celebrating the importance of preparing the workforce for in-demand jobs. CTE programs offered at Lincoln Trail College provide students with hands-on training and real-world experience in a variety of industries.
