OCC Musical Theater Showcase April 28
Join the Olney Central College Music Department as the Concert Choir and Musical Theater Workshop students present their Spring Musical Theater Showcase at 7 p.m. on April 28 in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center. “The showcase is a chance for these students to have leading roles, even if it’s only for 4 to 10 minutes,” said OCC Director of Choral Activities Dr. Andrew Pittman. “It’s a chance for all of my students to shine.”

LTC Inducts New Members Into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Lincoln Trail College inducted its newest members into the Alpha Iota Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders.

LTC Students Earn Awards at FBLA Conference
Lincoln Trail College earned five awards at the Illinois Future Business Leaders of American Collegiate State Leadership Conference in Effingham.  LTC took the top three spots in the Macroeconomics category with Cole Harness finishing first followed by Krista Phillips and Juan Solivellas. Solivellas was first in the Microeconomics category. Madisyn McIntosh, Krista Phillips, and Guadalupe Amicone finished second in Business Presentation.

OCC Rock and Jazz Concert April 19
The Olney Central College Music Department will present its Rock and Jazz Concert at 7 p.m. on April 19 in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center. This evening of music will feature performances by the two Contemporary Ensembles (Rock Bands) and the OCC Jazz Ensemble.

Six Lincoln Trail College Students Honored
Six Lincoln Trail College students were honored with the College’s most prestigious student awards on April 14. Alexis Davis was awarded the Joseph C. Piland Excellence in Scholarship Award, Guadalupe Amicone, Tomas Bascon, and Juan Solivellas were awarded the J. Rod Harmon Excellence in Service Award, and Leticia Guimaraes and Clint Wickliffe were awarded the Bev L. Turkal Excellence in Leadership Award.

The Arts at Lincoln Trail College Hosting Two Spring Concerts
The Arts at Lincoln Trail College will host a part of concerts in April. The Spring Choral Concert is on April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater and the Spring Instrumental Ensemble Concert is on April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

Lincoln Trail College's Children's Summer Theater Registration Date Announced
Registration for Lincoln Trail College’s Children’s Summer Theater program will take place from 8-10 a.m. on April 22. Registration will take place in the Zwermann Arts Center.   The popular theater camp for children entering 1st-9th grades begins May 29 and runs through June 23. There are two shows this year: Willy Wonka Kids and Newsies, Jr.

Early Childhood Education Town Hall Meeting April 18
Wabash Valley College is hosting Town Hall Meetings for its Early Childhood Education Program, which is available on all four campuses of Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC). The event will be held at Olney Central College at 7 p.m. on April 18 in the Student Union. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and no reservations are required. The Town Hall is open to childcare providers, preschool teachers, high school juniors/seniors, parents of teens, employers, community partners, former students, and parents of young children.

Broadband Telecom Program Remains Uninterrupted Despite Tornado Damage
On March 31st, a tornado wreaked havoc on Lincoln Trail College's Crisp Center, the home of the Broadband Telecom program. Despite the destruction, the college is pleased to announce that the semester will continue as scheduled.
