Details:

  • Dates: May 27 - June 17, 2025, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. CST

    July 7 - July 30, 2025, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. CST
  • Location: Olney Central College, 305 N. West Street, Olney, IL 62450, Room KW204
  • Cost: $400 (includes Classroom Instruction and Behind the Wheel Driving Time)
  • Students must turn 15-years-old by May 20, 2025
  • Minimum of 10 hours behind-the-wheel practice required (20 hours recommended) with valid learner's permit before starting driving portion
  • Attendance is mandatory. Only two absences allowed before required registration for next session (no refunds). Must attend entire 2-hour sessions.

Prior to the First Day of Class:

Prior to your first day of class the following must be completed:

  1. Payment of the full course fee, $400, is due prior to May 27, 2025. Payments may be made by mailing a check to 305 N. West St., Olney, IL 62450, or by paying at the Cashier at Olney Central College.
  2. Proof of age must be provided to Beth Miller by mail, in-person, or e-mailed to millerb1@iecc.edu. Students must be 15 no later than May 20, 2025, to be registered.
  3. Completion of either:
    1. Driver Education Approval Form – This form is for students enrolled in a public or private high school and provides verification the student is enrolled and has received a passing grade in at least 8 courses during the previous 2 semesters
    2. Home Schooled Parental Consent Form – This form is for students enrolled in a home school program or cooperative.
  4. Completion of Driver Education Single Driver Permission Slip. Every effort to ensure at least two students participate in all driving sessions; however, instances may occur where a student is unable to attend a scheduled training session. This form provides permission to allow for the training session to continue. This form is not required but does allow your child to stay on schedule should this occur.

Prior to Beginning Behind-the-Wheel Training:

Students must have:

  • Valid learner's permit issued by the Illinois Secretary of State
  • Minimum of 10 hours behind-the-wheel practice (20 hours recommended) documented in Illinois Secretary of State log

Attendance Policy:

Attendance is mandatory. Students are only allowed two absences before being required to register for the next available session with no refunds. Each class consists of a 2-hour in-person instructional classroom session and students must stay the entire time. Leaving early or coming in late is not allowed.
