About this pathway

The Mathematics transfer pathway, leading to the Associate in Science and Arts degree, is designed for students who plan to complete foundational coursework at IECC before transferring to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree in mathematics. The program prepares students to study quantities, structures, patterns, and relationships using symbolic logic and mathematical reasoning. Coursework provides a rigorous calculus sequence and introductory work in supporting areas such as physics and computer programming, while developing the abstract reasoning and problem-solving skills required for upper-division study. Topics of study include calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, discrete mathematics, and introductory statistics.
