Our program stands out as the only program of its kind in Southern Illinois. Our program values the input of our advisory council and area employers to ensure our students receive training that is relevant and useful in the workforce. With our state-of-the-art facilities, we offer training on a wide range of technologies to equip our students with the skills needed to succeed in manufacturing-related fields.

Many of our students arrive with little to no prior experience in metalworking or other manufacturing-related disciplines due to the discontinuation of shop programs in local high schools. However, our experienced instructors are prepared to take them from square one and provide them with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to excel in their careers. Join us at WVC's Advanced Manufacturing program and pave your way to a successful future in the manufacturing industry.

On top of the scholarships offered by the school, WVC's Advanced Manufacturing program also meet the qualifications for the Mike Rowe Works Scholarship.

Although internships are not mandatory for the Advanced Manufacturing program, the majority of students opt to work with nearby manufacturers. Additionally, the program arranges at least one annual educational trip to manufacturing facilities, which may include a comprehensive tour of automobile plants, aircraft manufacturing units like Boeing, and other similar sites.
