Overview
The Industrial Maintenance Technology (IMT) Program trains students to troubleshoot and repair various machinery and components in the industrial and commercial sector. Students dive deep into motor controls, electrical control circuits and automation discovering the fundamental way complex machinery works together to complete a process.
To promote an understanding of troubleshooting and repairs, students study the individual components of a system, how those components work with one another and how these machines behave when they are not working properly.
The program provides a progression of three certificates that lead to an associate degree.
Flexible Options
The course offerings in the program are flexible, allowing students that work full time options that can help accommodate a hectic work routine and complex life schedules that may make a college degree impossible to attain.
The instructional portion of the IMT Program is largely online allowing students to go through the content on their own time. This means students spend less time in lecture and more time performing lab work like troubleshooting electrical systems, programming a PLC or building and designing pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
Class sizes are kept small enabling students to receive one-on-one instruction while working in the lab. The availability and willingness of our instructors to communicate and support our students sets OCC apart.
