TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is 100% federally funded by the US Department of Education.  TRIO SSS serves at least 190 students from all 4 campuses throughout IECC.  TRIO Student Support Services is a college assistance program that provides the support, motivation, and academic advisement necessary to participants interested in transferring on to a university after completing their degree with IECC.


 

Who is eligible?

As a 100% federally funded program, there are qualifications that students must meet to be served by the program. You are eligible to participate in TRIO SSS if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled or accepted at one of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges
  • You have a need for academic support.
  • You are a citizen or national of the United States.
  • You satisfy one or more of the following:
    • Neither of your parents received a four-year degree (1st generation college student)
    • Can verify income eligibility according to federal guidelines
    • Have a reported learning or physical disability

How much does the program cost?

The program is FREE to eligible program participants. However, your commitment, effort, and motivation to succeed is required.

How do I apply?

If you would like to be one of 209 students who receive individualized support through UB and you meet the eligibility requirements, please complete our application.

(Applications are also available by contacting a UB staff member or target school guidance counselor).
