FCC Automotive PRogram Receives National Accreditation
The Automotive Service Technology program at Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois has received ASE Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation. To achieve this coveted recognition, the school’s automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. Nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment were used.

Snyder Begins New Chapter as FCC Volleyball Coach
The numbers speak for themselves; an overall record of 543-210, 13 conference titles, six regional titles, two consecutive sectional championships, a 73% winning percentage, and never experienced a losing season. Chet Snyder is the winningest coach in Fairfield Community High School history – not just in volleyball, but across all sports. In his debut season coaching FCHS Lady Mules Volleyball in 2004, Snyder led them to a 19-14 record. In his second year, the team finished 15-14. From there, he went on to achieve eighteen 20+ win seasons and five 30+ win seasons.

Rafferty Scholar Named
Maddox McElravy of Jewett was recently awarded the Steve Rafferty Memorial Scholarship by Frontier Community College in Fairfield.  The Steve Rafferty Memorial Scholarship was established in March 2014.  Rafferty served as the Lead Faculty for the Electrical Distribution Systems program at FCC from 2008 until his passing in March 2014.  This scholarship is awarded exclusively to students enrolled in the FCC Electrical Distribution Systems program.

Earl Pottorff Memorial Scholars Named 
Two Frontier Community College Electrical Distribution Systems students Caleb Hardy, from Opdyke, and Jeffrey Short, from Newton, were recently awarded the Earl R. Pottorff Memorial Scholarship.

FCC Students Receive Wayne-White Scholarship
Three Frontier Community College students were recently awarded the Wayne-White County Electrical Co-Op Scholarship in honor of Gerry Kinney. Caleb Hardy, of Opdyke, Asa Cannon, of Norris City, and Jeffrey Short of Newton were this year’s recipients, all three are currently enrolled in the Electrical Distribution Systems Program.

Frontier Community College Spring 2022 Academic Honors
Frontier Community College has released its academic honor lists for the Spring 2022 Semester. Three lists have been established by Illinois Eastern Community Colleges to indicate students who have achieved academic excellence. They are the Chancellor’s Honors List, the President’s Academic Honors List and the Dean’s Academic Honors List.   To qualify for any of the honor lists, a student must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) and must be taking college-level classes.

Frontier Community College Honors Students for Academic Excellence
Frontier Community College is excited to announce our academic honor recipients for the Fall 2021 Semester. Honors are based upon high student GPA, with the CEO/Chancellor’s list requiring a 3.90 or above GPA, President’s list requiring a 3.75 to 3.89 GPA, and the Dean’s list requiring a 3.50 – 3.74 GPA.

Frontier Community College Foundation to Receive Generous Donation
A building on the campus of Frontier Community College has a new name thanks to the generosity of an area resident. Clemence Elizabeth Cox Hall, named in memory of the mother of Jerry Cox, will serve as the home for FCC’s Center for Nursing, Learning Resource Center, and Academic Success Center. “I wanted to do something to honor my mother and continue to honor nurses,” said Mr. Cox. “I hold nurses in high regard after serving in Vietnam and seeing firsthand what nurses do for our country. I still see how important nurses are through my own health while receiving care through VA services.
