Lincoln Trail College’s newest advisor joins the college after spending three decades at The Hershey Company. Angel Kerner says she is excited about her career change and the opportunity to work with students.
While with Hershey, Kerner worked in Operations, Human Resources, Labor Scheduling, and leading the Learning and Development Program. She is a graduate of Olney Central College and Roosevelt University.
Outside of work, Kerner serves on the executive board for the Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens. She and her husband have four children and four grandchildren. Kerner is a St. Louis Cardinals fan and she and her husband are on a quest to visit every Major League Baseball stadium.

Hi! My name is Jamie Carman. I’m the Director of Academic Advising for Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. My home campus is Lincoln Trail College. I am a graduate of Lincoln Trail College x 2 (2005 & 2011) and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from St. Mary of the Woods College (2016) and a Masters in Leadership Development with a focus in Organizational Leadership (2023), also from St. Mary of the Woods College. Prior to working at Lincoln Trail, I worked at Robinson High School. I enjoy hanging out with my daughters, spending time with my family and my friends who are like family, watching documentaries, and reading non-fiction books.

Caleb Kamplain joined TRIO Student Support Services in 2024. Kamplain’s educational path reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and student empowerment. After earning his associate degree from LTC, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana and completed a Master of Arts in Community Psychology at National Louis University in 2024. He is now working toward a Ph.D. in the same field. His background includes roles as a graduate research assistant and as a substitute special education paraprofessional, experiences he says have strengthened his approach to advising. As an advisor, Kamplain’s focus will be on recruiting and guiding students through the TRIO SSS program, providing personalized academic support, and working closely with faculty and staff to address obstacles that can impact student success. “My goal is to be a resource for students and to offer support, no matter where they are on their journey.”
