Welding Technology

Overview

Welders are highly-trained, well-paid professionals, whose skills are in demand.

Olney Central College’s Welding Technology programs provide both welding and real-world fabrication experience.

Gain hands-on training in welding processes including:

• Shielded Metal Arc (Stick)

• Gas Metal Arc (MIG)

• Gas Tungsteen Arc (TIG)

• Flux-Cored Arc (FCAW)

Students earn numerous American Welding Society certifications as they progress through the program.

Fabrication is essential in the industry. Our students undertake a variety of projects from start to finish while working from blueprints, just as they would on a job site.

"As far as a quality education, we are as good as the top schools in the nation. Our students are getting the same experience for a fraction of the cost." Instructor Curtis Marshall

Both a one-year certificate and a two-year associate in applied science degree are available. Three cohorts — morning, afternoon and evening — are offered to meet student needs. First- and second-year classes are held in separate facilities to keep class sizes small. This ensures students receive one-on-one instruction from educators who have worked extensively in the field.

Our labs feature state-of-the-art equipment including plasma and water jet cutters. The remodeled lab at the West Richland Center in Noble includes 15 welding booths fitted with all-new equipment.
