Certified Medical Assistant

Faculty

Jodi Peach, RN – Instructor

Jodi Peach has been an instructor for Frontier Community College since 2015, initially serving as the instructor for the Health Informatics Technology program.  The Certified Medical Assistant program is similar, but includes more clinical-based curriculum.  Peach has also been a CPR/first aid instructor.

Peach began her healthcare career working as a registered nurse for St. Mary’s Medical Center (Evansville, IN).  She cared for many patients while working in the intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit.  Eventually, she moved into an office setting at the Fairfield Community Health Center.  Later, she became the Clinic manager for the Albion Community Health Center.  In total, Peach has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

During her many years working with patients and other medical professionals, Peach saw firsthand what college students need to be prepared for a career in hospitals and in health-related offices.  Specifically, she noticed that employees who were cross-trained in clinical and clerical areas were essential to the workplace.  As the instructor for the CMA program, she sees the value that graduates will bring to their future employers.

A sense of caring is essential to many medical careers, and Peach has transitioned that into the classroom when instructing her students.  She shares her medical experience and passion with her students, because she is excited for them to gain that same exposure in their future careers.  Peach is committed to each student’s success and provides constant support to ensure they are prepared to confidently enter the workforce. That’s why she works with second-year students to help them with the job search.

Peach holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (RN) from Frontier Community College. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Indiana Business College.
