This year’s Snack Drive at Wabash Valley College was a resounding success, collecting 10,706 items (cash and food items) to benefit FRESH, our on-campus resource supporting students in need. Spearheaded by Jill Winter (FRESH Faculty Sponsor) and Kyle Peach (Student Senate Advisor), this remarkable effort highlighted the generosity and community spirit of WVC students, staff, and faculty.
The 2024 total marks the second-highest collection in WVC history, showcasing an ongoing commitment to helping students thrive. Since the drive’s inception, the impact has grown exponentially: from just over 1,000 items in 2016 to this year’s impressive total. These contributions not only help stock the shelves at FRESH but also serve as a beacon of hope and support for our campus.
IECC Competition Results:
WVC once again claimed the IECC traveling trophy, proving that the Warrior spirit shines brightly when it comes to giving back.
- 1st Place: Wabash Valley College – 10,706 items
- 2nd Place: Lincoln Trail College – 1,881 items
- 3rd Place: Frontier Community College – 874 items
- 4th Place: Olney Central College (non-participant this year, contributing in other ways).
The competition brought in a total of 13,461 items district-wide. Even more significantly, it has inspired the creation of on-campus food resources like FRESH across multiple IECC campuses, leaving a lasting legacy of support.
On-Campus Team Results:
The Ag/Collegiate Farm Bureau Club dominated once again, collecting an impressive 5,010 items. Congratulations to this outstanding team!

- Student Senate: 234 items
- Other Campus/Community Donations: 1,582 items
Our “Snack Drive Basketball Game” hosted by Athletics and Student Senate brought in a net 162 items. Special shoutout to WVC Baseball for their assistance with the Street Corner Fundraiser, which alone brought in a record-breaking 3,446 items.
