LTC Prepares for 54th Annual Commencement

Lincoln Trail College’s 54th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sports Center and Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The event will also be streamed live at youtube.com/lincolntrailcollege.

Lincoln Trail College President Tona Ambrose will preside over the ceremony and will give the welcome. Dr. Josh Pack, who serves as an adjunct speech instructor, is giving the inspirational reading.

A pair of students will speak at the ceremony. Dean of Instruction Cyndi Boyce will introduce the first student, Guadalupe Amicone. Ambrose will introduce the second speaker, Krista Phillips.

Boyce will present the candidates and Coordinator of Marketing and Public Information Chris Forde will announce the name of each graduate. Trustee John Brooks will confer the degrees.

Boyce will close out the ceremony with closing reflections.

Brassmasters, made up of Cartha Gustafson, Tim McCormick, Brent Ritter, Heather Setzer, and Andy Whittington, will provide the music for the ceremony.

Leading students, faculty, and staff into the Sports Center will be An Roy. She was selected as the gonfalon, who carries the College’s official flag during the ceremony. The gonfalon carrier leads the procession of graduates and symbolizes the unity and pride of the graduating class.

First-year students Erika Garrard, Kylee Hosman, Gracie Lemmon, and Zoe Martin were selected to serve as the graduation marshals. 

Lincoln Trail College’s Nursing Program will have a ceremony of its own prior to the Commencement. They are planning a reception for the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society at 5 p.m. in DeMent Auditorium followed by their Pinning Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.
