On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Wabash Valley College held Warrior Day, a meet and greet that introduced the community to the bass fishing and archery club sports teams. This family-friendly event gave attendees the chance to meet the Bass Fishing and Archery teams, learn more about the sports, and enjoy food, snacks, and beverages. The weather was perfect for community members to tour the boats and watch a live archery demonstration.
A special highlight was the recognition of Grace Williams from the Archery Team, who received an award for both her performance and GPA. State Representative Dave Severin, a member of the Illinois Sportsmen’s Caucus, was also in attendance. He generously donated to both the Bass Fishing and Archery teams to support their travel expenses for upcoming fall events.
After the meet-and-greet, the community packed the gym to watch the Lady Warriors’ first home game, which saw an amazing turnout. For the second year in a row, Warrior Day is turning out to be one of Wabash Valley College’s and the Mount Carmel community’s favorite family events of the year!
