Celebrating 65 Years at Wabash Valley College

Nov 14, 2025

Wabash Valley College is celebrating 65 years of excellence in education, student success, and community partnership.
In recognition of this milestone, the WVC Foundation has launched the “65 for 65” Campaign, encouraging alumni, community members, and friends of the college to contribute $65 in honor of WVC’s 65th anniversary.

All funds raised through the campaign will directly support student scholarships, textbooks, and academic fees—providing opportunities for current and future Warriors to achieve their goals.
Donations can be made online through the Foundation’s giving portal at iecc.edu/wvc/foundation.

As part of the celebration, the Wabash County Chamber of Commerce will recognize Wabash Valley College’s 65th Anniversary at its annual banquet on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Anderson Building at the Wabash County 4-H Fairgrounds, where WVC will be honored for six and a half decades of educational impact and community leadership.

Those interested in exploring WVC’s rich history can view a collection of digitized Oubache yearbooks, available through the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI).
The online collection, found HERE, includes yearbooks from 1963 through 1994 and offers a fascinating look at how Wabash Valley College has evolved since its establishment in 1960.

“WVC has always been a college built by community support,” said Samantha Newkirk, WVC Foundation Executive Director. “The ‘65 for 65’ Campaign is our way of inviting alumni and friends to celebrate our history while investing in the success of the next generation.”
