Lincoln Trail College honored the Nursing Class of 2025 in a heartfelt Pinning Ceremony that celebrated the hard work, compassion and dedication of the graduating students as they prepare to enter the nursing profession.
The ceremony began with a welcome from Associate Professor of Nursing Angie Williams, who spoke about the symbolism behind the nursing pin. She explained how the pin represents more than just the completion of a program—it’s a badge of honor that reflects a commitment to care, service and integrity.
This year’s keynote speaker was LTC alumna Megan Farmer, a 2020 graduate of the nursing program. Now an experienced nurse, Farmer shared stories from her time in the field and offered advice to the soon-to-be graduates.
After each graduate was introduced and pinned, Instructor Laurie Jenkins led the group in the Florence Nightingale Pledge—a tradition that underscores the values of the profession and the responsibility that comes with it.
The Pinning Ceremony is a time-honored tradition in nursing, marking the transition from student to nurse and serving as a moment of pride for the graduates, their families, and the faculty who supported them along the way.
