Lincoln Trail College Hosts Banquet for Top Achievers in Crawford County
On January 8, Lincoln Trail College hosted ten students and their families as they were presented the Crawford County Award for Excellence (CCAE) Scholarship. The scholarship, which is awarded to the top ten percent of the graduating class in each of Lincoln Trail College’s primary feeder schools, is the highest-level award that is given to prospective students.

LTC Student-Athletes Combine for 3.27 GPA
Lincoln Trail College student-athletes have combined for a GPA above 3.0 for the tenth consecutive semester. Student-athletes combined for a 3.27 GPA in the Fall 2019 semester.
“I couldn’t be happier with the performance of our student-athletes in the classroom,” said Athletic Director Kevin Bowers. “We have an expectation at Lincoln Trail College that not only will they perform at a high level on the court and field, but also that they’ll work hard in the classroom.”

Four LTC Spring Athletes Honored
Four Lincoln Trail College athletes have been honored for their achievements on the field this spring.
Outfielder Jordan Brewer was named All-Northern District, All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference, and All-Region. Brewer, who committed to the University of Michigan, batted .367 with 31 RBI. Brewer is a two-time All-Conference and All-Region selection.
Pitcher Kaleb Huxford earned All-Conference and All-Region honors. Huxford, who committed to Saint Leo University, went 5-1 with a 1.53 ERA for the Statesmen. He struck out 74 batters in his 59 innings pitched.

Spring 2018 Academic Honors
Lincoln Trail College has released its academic honor lists for the Spring 2018 Semester. Three lists have been established by Illinois Eastern Community Colleges to indicate students who have achieved academic excellence. They are the Chief Executive Officer’s Academic Honors List, the President’s Academic Honors List and the Dean’s Academic Honors List.
To qualify for any of the honor lists, a student must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) and must be taking college-level classes.

LTC Student Athletes Combine for 3.21 GPA
For the ninth consecutive semester, student-athletes at Lincoln Trail College have combined to have a GPA of at least 3.0. The athletes combined for a 3.15 GPA in the Spring ’18 semester and for the 2017-18 academic year, they combined for a 3.21 GPA.
“I’m really proud of our athletes,” says Athletic Director Kevin Bowers. “They work very hard in their sports, but they also put in a lot of effort in the classroom and that shows.”
The softball team recorded the top marks among LTC teams with a combined 3.41 GPA for the academic year. The team had a 3.51 GPA in the spring.

Lincoln Trail College Sport Management Students Meet With Cardinals Employees
Students in Lincoln Trail College’s Sport Management program got the opportunity to learn about careers in Major League Baseball at an event with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The students traveled to St. Louis on May 2 to attend a game between the Cardinals and Chicago White Sox, but that was only one part of the trip. The students also got to visit with four Cardinals employees and one White Sox employee during a panel discussion.

LTC Student Athletes Combine for 3.26 GPA in Fall 2017
For the eighth consecutive semester, student athletes at Lincoln Trail College combined for a grade point average above 3.0. The Athletic Department’s combined GPA in the Fall ’17 semester was 3.26.
“I’m very proud of our student athletes,” says Athletic Director and Baseball Coach Kevin Bowers. “They have a strong dedication to their sports, but they have an equally strong dedication to their work in the classroom.”
