Lincoln Trail College’s newest advisor joins the college after spending three decades at The Hershey Company. Angel Kerner says she is excited about her career change and the opportunity to work with students.
While with Hershey, Kerner worked in Operations, Human Resources, Labor Scheduling, and leading the Learning and Development Program. She is a graduate of Olney Central College and Roosevelt University.
Outside of work, Kerner serves on the executive board for the Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens. She and her husband have four children and four grandchildren. Kerner is a St. Louis Cardinals fan and she and her husband are on a quest to visit every Major League Baseball stadium.

Linda Ryan-Catt has worked as the TRIO SSS Academic Counselor at Illinois Eastern Community Colleges, Lincoln Trail College since 2019. This year marks her forty-third year in education. Linda’s background includes thirty-five years teaching in Illinois public schools, as well as working with TRIO SSS programs at Vincennes University and Lincoln Trail College. She holds an MLS degree (Master of Library Science) from Indiana State University, a BS degree in Education with teacher certification in English, Music, Talented and Gifted Education, and Family/Consumer Science from Eastern Illinois University, and an ASA degree from Lincoln Trail College. Linda truly felt “called” to be an educator and thinks that being involved in this field is so much more than just a career. It is really all about helping students to reach their potential, and, in this process, touch their lives in a way to make a difference in this world.
TRIO Student Support Services is a 100% federally funded program from the U.S. Department of Education that works to serve income eligible, first-generation students, and/or students with special needs to be academically successful.
Kyrah Buchanan

Kyrah has been advising students at LTC since 2015. She advises nursing, pre-nursing, and CNA students; evaluates placement test scores and administers proctoring for pre-admission testing; organizes Nursing Information Sessions for ranking requirements; and maintains online immunization tracking. Kyrah also works with Good Samaritan and Union Hospital in providing online clinical schedules for agency rotations. Kyrah holds an Associate in Science degree from Wabash Valley College.
