Olney Central College Director of Choral Activities Dr. Andrew Pittman is excited to announce the OCC Community Choir is returning for Fall 2021.
“After a very difficult year, I’m so excited to see my friends in the Community Choir again, for us to sing, to connect, and to just plain have fun,” he said.
Last fall the OCC Music Department made the difficult decision to cancel Community Choir and its annual Christmas Concert due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This year, we will be performing in the brand-new theater at the Richland County High School and sharing our Christmas Concert with the Richland County High School Concert Choir under the direction of Mr. Warren Weitkamp,” Pittman said.
The choir will begin its 11th season with rehearsals starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17 in the OCC Choir/Band Room 216 on the second floor of Wattleworth Hall. High school age and older are welcome to join. The only requirements are the ability to match pitch, a positive attitude, and the desire to sing.
The choir will present its Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11.
