Massage Therapy

Overview

Massage therapy's popularity continues to increase as more people discover its health benefits, which include improved circulation along with a decrease in stress and anxiety, pain, and muscle tension.

Olney Central College's Massage Therapy Program provides students with the skills needed to work in the wellness area of professional massage therapy. Classes are offered in the evening giving students additional flexibility. Massage Therapy is a part-time certificate program, which takes two years to complete. New students are accepted in even numbered years. The program is located at the Terry L. Bruce West Richland Center, 320 E. Main Avenue in Noble.

Hands-on Learning

While enrolled in the program, students master massage techniques through in-class practice and clinicals. The clinicals, which are open to the public, provide practice with a variety of clients. Students also learn and practice other complementary therapies.

Licensing

Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the Massage and Bodywork Licensure Examination (MBLEx), which is administered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB).
