Are you looking to enroll in a degree or certificate program at Olney Central College? We would love to have you join us! Our advisors are here to help you every step of the way, from program and career exploration to graduation day and beyond.
Before enrolling in a degree or certificate program, students must first schedule an appointment with an academic advisor through OCC Student Services. Advisement is an essential step in college education to make informed and educated decisions. Advisors also ensure you are earning all necessary credits to apply toward your chosen degree or certificate program.

Meet Our Advisors
Brandi Rich-Beard

Brandi Rich-Beard has been an advisor/recruiter at Olney Central College since July 2021. An employee of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges since 2017, she has served in various positions, most recently as the Student Services Specialist at OCC.
Brandi completed her associate’s degree at OCC and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Jodi Schneider

Jodi Schneider joined Olney Central College as an advisor/recruiter in 2019. She advises transfer students and all athletes.
An employee of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District since September 2003, Jodi worked nine years with IECC Talent Search before joining TRIO Upward Bound as a counselor. She served as the program’s coordinator from 2017 to 2019.
Jodi is a graduate of North Clay High School and OCC, where she was a student athlete playing both basketball and softball for the Lady Knights. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University. She completed her student teaching at Newton High School, where she served as a teacher for three years.
As OCC’s recruiter, she visits area high schools, working to increase OCC’s profile in the surrounding communities. She also represents OCC at college fairs and inter-district events.

Vicki Thompson

Vicki Thompson has served as Olney Central College's retention coordinator since 2013. She assists students in overcoming barriers that may prevent them from completing a certificate or degree. She also advises students in OCC's career and technical programs.
She was a teaching assistant in the Flora School District for 17 years and taught evening GED classes for six years at OCC.
Vicki completed her associate’s degree at Frontier Community College and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration through McKendree University’s AiM Program.
