Route 1 Closure to Impact LTC Entrance

The Illinois Department of Transportation is replacing a bridge on Illinois Route 1 just north of Illinois Route 33. The road will be closed from May 16, 2022, until the project is completed, which is expected to be in mid-September. 

Lincoln Trail College will only be accessible from the north during the construction and visitors should allow extra time to arrive to campus.

Detour:

Use North Jackson Street in Robinson to North Trimble Road to Illinois Route 1.

Per IDOT, only local traffic will be permitted on Illinois 1 between E 1150 Avenue and Route 33 during the road closure.

Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detour and should allow for extra travel time. They are also urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
