LTC's New Student Orientation Set for August 19

Jul 23, 2025

As Lincoln Trail College prepares for the upcoming academic year, students can look forward to a blend of helpful resources and exciting activities designed to set them up for success.

The 2025-26 school year kicks off with New Student Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event introduces new students to campus life, student support services, and academic expectations.

“Orientation is a great way for students to get comfortable on campus and start building connections,” said Rena Gower, Director of the Learning Commons. “We want them to feel confident and supported as they begin this next chapter.”

Classes begin Thursday, Aug. 21, and Lincoln Trail College is marking the occasion with ten days of events that are both informative and fun. Gower said the goal is to help students engage with their peers, meet faculty and staff, and learn about the opportunities available at LTC.

In addition to the special events, the Learning Commons will be available for students needing help with Entrata and Canvans, along with those who need to talk about ADA accommodations, IEPs, and 504 plans.

“We want students to know they’re not alone,” said Gower. “Whether they need academic help, a sense of community, or just a break from the books, we’re here to help them thrive.”
