The Fall Semester at Lincoln Trail College begins on August 18 and the College will help new students prepare for college at New Student Orientation on August 17.
“We’re giving students some flexibility with orientation this year,” said Director of Marketing Chris Forde. “Instead of having one session, we’re offering students a choice of three different times.”
There are orientation sessions at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. on August 17, and students can choose the time that works best for them. New Student Orientation helps students prepare for college life at Lincoln Trail College. Students will learn about the services available to them and hear from some of the people they will work with. Additionally, students will take a campus tour.
LTC is also offering walk-in services on Aug. 17. Students that need to meet with an advisor or talk with a representative from Financial Aid can start doing that anytime from 9:30 to 1:30. There will also be an open computer lab and help available from IT during that time. Students that need to take the ACCUPLACER test or drop off IEP or 504 plans will also be able to do that on the 17th.
Students do not need to register in advance for New Student Orientation or for any of the walk-in services. Fall Classes begin on Aug. 18 and there is still time to register for classes.
“If you’re planning to take classes this Fall and you haven’t registered yet, we encourage you to do that as soon as you can,” said Forde. “While you’re registering for classes, we also encourage you to apply for our Educational Paycheck which can help you pay for your college expenses. There’s a very brief application you can complete on our website.”
