Students from 22 different countries came to Lincoln Trail College on November 17 for IECC’s Annual Thanksgiving Meal. International students from each campus are invited to participate in the event and they were joined by several American students, including some from the TRIO Student Support Services program.
Student Trustee Guadalupe Amicone opened the event with an icebreaker game. Dean of Students and International Students Director Cassandra Goldman asked students to stand when their country was represented, Lincoln Trail College President and Vice Chancellor of Institutional Outreach Tona Ambrose welcomed all of the students to campus and then Wabash Valley College President and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Matt Fowler gave an inspirational message before the meal.
The meal at the Statesmen Grill featured a traditional Thanksgiving feast. After the meal, students learned about the TRIO program from Wain Davis and had the chance to socialize and play games in LTC’s Student Lounge.
This year’s International Thanksgiving Meal also fell on International Students Day. The annual day recognizes the contributions of international students to education.
