Lincoln Trail College Celebrating Young Artists

Feb 05, 2025

Lincoln Trail College recently showcased the talents of young artists in the community with its Children’s Art Show, which ran from February 3 to 14 in the Learning Commons. The exhibition featured 88 pieces of artwork submitted by students from Nuttall Middle School, Oblong, Palestine, and New Hebron Christian School. An open house on February 4 welcomed artists, their families, and community members to celebrate the students’ creativity across various mediums.

Next, the college will host “Celebrate Art!”, a one-day event for high school students on March 4. Open to students in grades nine through twelve, the program invites participants to submit artwork in categories such as drawing, painting, computer-generated art, 3D artwork, and photography. Entries will be judged on creativity, composition, and technique.

In addition to a reception for the artists on March 4, students will be invited to hear a presentation from a professional who has made a career out of art.

Both events highlight the artistic achievements of area students and reflect Lincoln Trail College’s commitment to fostering creativity and education in the arts.
