Lincoln Trail College and Scouting America collaborated on a Merit Badge Fair on September 21. The event gave area Scouts a chance to come to Lincoln Trail College for the day and work on specific merit badges through the help of Lincoln Trail College employees.  President Tona Ambrose says the event came from a United Way meeting in the spring where Noah Olson talked about other similar events and that he was looking for a partner in this area.

Terry Johnson (’94) was a star athlete at Lincoln Trail College and remains the only athlete to be named All-Conference in baseball and basketball. He is now entering his fourth year as an assistant coach at Purdue. He served as the keynote speaker at the Robinson Mayor’s Breakfast. Mayor Mike Shimer (‘72) asked Johnson to talk about leadership after Shimer gave his annual State of the City address. Johnson mixed together his experiences at Lincoln Trail College with his points about how leadership can be hard and lonely.

Lincoln Trail College is proud to welcome Abby Holdreith as its new Speech and English Instructor. Holdreith’s path to LTC has been paved with dedication to the field of education. A native of Olney, Illinois, she knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in teaching, inspired by several family members who were administrators. After attending Olney Central College, Holdreith graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. From there, she started her teaching career.

The Dhom family has found a common thread in their academic journeys: Lincoln Trail College. LTC has not only shaped their individual paths but has become an integral part of their family narrative. 

After three decades of dedication and countless lives touched, Andy Bradbury's martial arts program at Lincoln Trail College is embarking on an exciting new journey. The program, a cornerstone of community fitness and personal development, has found a new home at the Crawford County Recreation Center.

A partnership between the Crawford County Development Association and Lincoln Trail College gave one student an opportunity to gain valuable experience. Haley Bricker (’24) recently completed a six-month-long internship with the CCDA.

Get ready for a thrilling celebration of the arts as Lincoln Trail College marks 50 years of captivating theater in 2025! The College is excited to announce its Fall and Spring productions, promising a season brimming with drama, excitement, and unforgettable performances.

Jena Combs has joined Lincoln Trail College as a Music/Instrumental Instructor and will lead the jazz band and pep band. She also teaches general education music classes, instrumental lessons, and classes geared toward music majors like music theory. Combs earned an Associate in Science and Arts from Olney Central College in 2011 and then transferred to Eastern Illinois University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with teacher’s certification. Combs obtained a Master of Arts in Music with a concentration in Music Education from EIU in 2021. 

Illinois Eastern Community College is excited to announce FAFSA Fridays in August. Every Friday during the month, students may visit the Financial Aid Office at Frontier Community College, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, or Wabash Valley College to receive assistance filling out their FAFSA.   The 2024-2025 FAFSA process has been even more challenging with the FAFSA Simplification Act, and these days are designed to make the process a little bit easier.  

Lincoln Trail College is once again making it easy for students to prepare for the Fall 2024 Semester. LTC is offering Walk-In Wednesdays on four Wednesdays in June and July for people to take care of a variety of things to help them get ready for the Fall. “The beauty of Walk-In Wednesdays is that you don’t need an appointment,” said Lincoln Trail College Coordinator of Marketing and Public Information Chris Forde. “You can come in and our experts will help you.”
