Special Event Management

Special events are used to celebrate and commemorate many important occasions, both in personal lives and in the workplace. This unique career involves a combination of design elements and logistics management to help make events large and small a success for clients. In the special event management certificate, students will get hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience on how to plan, prepare, and host special events. In the 6-credit certificate, students will develop knowledge and skills in topics such as project management and organization, marketing, design and décor, logistics, site selection, and budgeting. This certificate will assist both those entering the field and those already working in special event management by focusing on topics and issues related to modern-day events.
