Ellis to Appear as John James Audubon Sept. 26

Renowned author, storyteller, museum consultant and naturalist Brian “Fox” Ellis will present a special program as John James Audubon at Olney Central College.

The event, hosted by the Ridgeway Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 in Dr. Kent Wattleworth Hall, Room 203. The program is free and open to the public, including OCC students, faculty and staff.

Ellis, a talented performer and Illinois Audubon Society Membership and Outreach Coordinator, brings to life the famous ornithologist, John James Audubon, in this engaging and educational program. His portrayal offers unique insights into Audubon’s legacy as a pioneering naturalist and artist.

Ellis has an extensive career as an internationally acclaimed storyteller, having collaborated with prestigious institutions such as The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, The Field Museum, and dozens of other museums nationwide.

A highly sought-after keynote speaker, Ellis has presented at major conferences including the International Wetlands Conservation Conference and the National Science Teachers Association Conference.

He is the author of more than 30 books, including the acclaimed Learning From the Land: Teaching Ecology Through Stories and Activities and the award-winning children’s picture book, The Web at Dragonfly Pond.
