Lincoln Trail College Hosting Welding Open House

Dec 18, 2025

Lincoln Trail College will host a Welding Open House on January 8 from 4 to 6 p.m., giving prospective students and community members an opportunity to meet the program’s new instructors and learn more about welding education and career pathways.

The open house will feature LTC’s new welding faculty members Will Bookhout and Kenneth Pearson. Dennis York, a current LTC faculty member who is the lead instructor for the college’s Broadband Telecom program, will teach a course this spring on welding blueprints.

Visitors will be able to tour the welding lab, explore equipment, and learn about the program’s hands-on training approach. College staff will be available to discuss career opportunities in the welding field, which continues to see strong demand regionally and nationwide.

“We are excited to reintroduce the welding program and connect with future students,” said LTC President Tona Ambrose. “This open house is a chance for people to meet our instructors, see the training environment, and take the first step toward a high-demand career.”

Attendees can also receive assistance with enrolling in Spring Semester welding classes. Staff will help prospective students navigate the registration process, answer questions about program requirements, and provide information about financial aid and student support services.

The event is open to the public and will take place at LTC's McCoy Welding Center at 310 East Locust Street in Robinson.
