About Frontier

Established in 1976, Frontier Community College (FCC) is located in Fairfield, Illinois.  FCC is one of four campuses (along with Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College) comprising Illinois Eastern Community Colleges.  

Our mission is to deliver exceptional education and services to improve the lives of our students and to strengthen our communities.

No matter what you have in mind for the future, FCC offers a degree or certificate to help get you there.  Earn an Associate's Degree in two years and seamlessly transfer to a 4-year university to pursue your chosen field of study.  Ready to enter the workforce?  Choose one of our Career & Technical Education programs, complete with skills-based learning and hands-on training.

At FCC, we strive to serve our community. It's in our name, after all! We offer Community Education classes for all ages and interests, ranging from stained glass to quilting to ballroom dancing.  If you've decided to go back to school, we offer GED Test Preparation courses free of charge. Classes are offered on campus or an area near you, and the GED exam can be taken on any of the IECC campuses.
