OLNEY, IL — Olney Central College Theater’s production of the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens on March 20 at the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center.
The production marks the return of the beloved musical to the OCC stage for the first time in 18 years. Known for its lively music and colorful storytelling, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat retells the familiar biblical story of Joseph, his famous coat of many colors, and his journey from hardship to triumph.
This year’s production brings together a large community cast spanning generations. Performers range in age from 15 to their mid-70s, and the show features a 50-member children’s choir, adding extra energy and excitement to the show.
While audiences will recognize the classic story and many of the well-known songs, this OCC Theater production also has a few surprises along the way.
The production is fun and accessible for audiences of all ages, making it a family-friendly night at the theater.
Performances will take place March 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 at 7 p.m. and March 22 and 29 at 2 p.m., at the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center on the Olney Central College campus.
