Illinois Eastern Community Colleges is excited to announce FAFSA Fridays in August. Every Friday during the month, students may visit the Financial Aid Offices at Frontier Community, Lincoln Trail, Olney Central or Wabash Valley colleges to receive assistance filling out their FAFSA.
The 2024-2025 FAFSA process has been even more challenging with the FAFSA Simplification Act, and these days are designed to make the process a little bit easier.
“We want to help eliminate the challenges and barriers our students may be facing,” said Program Director of Financial Aid Krystle Riggle.
Any student who completes their FAFSA in August, not just on Fridays, will receive incentives and their name will be entered into a drawing for one of two laptops being raffled off at the end of the month.
Students are encouraged to complete their FAFSA as soon as possible, and attending a FAFSA Friday can make the process even easier.
“Completing your FAFSA can make you eligible for Pell, MAP, or SEOG grants, which can help cover your books, tuition, and fees, reducing your out-of-pocket expenses,” said OCC Coordinator of Financial Aid Taryn Bunting. “We are here to help students through the application process and make sure they receive all the financial aid they qualify for.”
IECC Financial Aid Offices are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help with all financial aid needs. Contact the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible, and don’t miss out on free money to help you achieve your academic goals at IECC.
