T-Shirt Quilting Class Beginning on February 6

T-shirt quilts are an excellent way to turn much-loved shirts into permanent memories for family and friends.  Frontier Community College (FCC) is offering an 8-week class in which students will create a T-shirt quilt.  The class begins February 6 and will be held on FCC’s campus at Bob Boyles Hall.

The T-Shirt Quilting class will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.  Both beginners and advanced quilters are welcome to join.  Gayla Templeman will be the instructor, and she looks forward to sharing her passion for quilting with others.

Students should bring the following sewing supplies to class:

A working sewing machine
Sewing machine accessories, such as bobbins and ¼” piecing foot or a regular foot
T-Shirts and fabric (contact Gayla Templeman for details)
½ yard of lightweight iron-on interfacing
1 large spool of white or tan thread (whichever matches fabric best)
1 pair of fabric scissors
Straight pins
Seam ripper
45 mm rotary cutter, mat and ruler

To register for the T-Shirt Quilting class, call FCC at 618-842-3711.  Tuition is waived for adults age 60 or older, and they pay only the fees.
