FCC Offering Free GED Prep Classes in Fairfield This Fall

Frontier Community College (FCC) has scheduled free GED Prep classes in Fairfield starting August 17.  Classes are free and will meet for eight weeks.  Day and evening classes are both available.  On-site registration is going on now weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Frontier Community College. Walk-ins are welcome or potential students can call to make an appointment.

GED classes will begin August 17.  Classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) with Stacey Legg or Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Vanessa Anderson at Frontier Community College in Classroom Building West.

GED Prep reviews all of the subjects on the GED exam (Math, Writing, Reading, Science, Social Studies and Constitution), as well as Job Preparation skills.   The GED exam is now a computerized test and is offered on FCC’s campus.

Additional eight week adult education classes to be offered on Frontier Community College’s campus are Job Skills, Transitions, and Math for GED classes. The Math for GED class will be taught by Sandra Harvel beginning Monday, August 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in Classroom Building West.

The Transitions class, taught by Vanessa Anderson, will assist students who plan to make the move to college classes and/or the workplace from adult education. This class is open to students who have successfully passed at least on GED test and to GED graduates. Class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Classroom Building West beginning Thursday, August 17.
