Celebrate Christmas With the College in Evansville!

Christmas is quickly approaching, and Frontier Community College invites you to celebrate the holiday season with them!  The college is offering a cultural package titled “Christmas With the College” for interested individuals in the community that will be held on Thursday, December 13.  Reservations are now open for the event, which will be held in Evansville, Indiana.

Christmas With the College will include multiple stops and attractions in Evansville, providing entertainment for all ages and interests.  The trip will include a tour of the Reitz Home Museum, dinner at Cork ‘N Cleaver, a lights display at Garvin Park, and an evening performance at the Old National Events Plaza.

The Reitz Home Museum is Evansville’s only Victorian House Museum and is situated in the city’s downtown Historic Preservation District.  The home was built in 1871 and has since been preserved and established as a house museum.  Both the interior and exterior will be decked out for the holiday season to complement the authentic Victorian furnishings, including silk damask-covered walls, French chandeliers, marble floors, and stained glass window panels.  The guided tour will lead visitors through 12 rooms on two floors.

Following the Reitz Home Museum tour, dinner will be held at Cork ‘N Cleaver, a restaurant with several delicious options available on an early bird menu.  Entrees include New York strip, bourbon glazed chicken, Atlantic salmon, chop steak, and more.  Dinner is included in the overall cost of the trip.

Guests will then return to the charter bus and drive through Garvin Park for Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights tour.  Garvin Park is one of Evansville’s oldest parks and sprawls over 80 acres near historic Bosse Field.  This year, Garvin Park is celebrating its 25th annual drive-through winter light show and will have over 60 exhibits on display.

The evening performance of Christmas Wonderland Holiday Spectacular will be at Old National Events Plaza in downtown Evansville.  The Old National Events Plaza website states that the show will feature “glittering costumes, a dazzling cast, and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole.”  Favorite holiday songs will include Winter Wonderland, Let it Snow, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, and more.

The itinerary is as follows:
