Once the Admission process is complete and a student is accepted, the registration process begins.

1. Apply for Financial Aid
Financial Aid comes in many forms and provides assistance with college expenses.  All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  An informational brochure
and a link
to the application are available here.

There is also support in the form of state programs, scholarships, and
veteran's benefits.  See Financial Aid for additional information and
with a financial aid representative in the Financial Aid Office to
discuss options for paying for college.

2. Schedule Placement Testing (if indicated)
As described in Course Placement, some new students may be required to take placement testing.  Testing should be
scheduled and completed prior to registering for classes.  Additional information on course placement and testing is available
via the Navigation Menu on the left.

3. Register for Classes
Refer to the District Wide Calendar to determine registration dates.  New students should contact the college for an advisement and registration appointment.  All entering freshmen should register and attend the new student orientation session scheduled by the college if they are enrolled in a degree or certificate program.

Online Courses:  If you do not live in the state of Illinois and are interested in taking online courses, please read to determine whether your state allows you to take courses from IECC.

NOTE:  Late registration is generally a 10-day period following the last day of regular admissions for 16-week courses and a 5-day period for 8-week courses.

5. Purchase Books
Students may purchase new and used books in the college bookstore or online. Contact your college bookstore or visit the IECC bookstore web pages for more information pertaining to book availability, pricing, or ISBN.
