Program Overview:
The Associate in Science degree will ease transition to a science-related baccalaureate degree program. After successful completion, a student can generally transfer with junior status. It is the student’s responsibility to work closely with an advisor so that electives are appropriate, transferable, and applicable to the student’s major at the transfer college or university.
PROGRAM NOTE: The Illinois Community College Board approved changes to the Associate in Science degree on 9/18/2015 in order to smooth the transfer for STEM students into four-year institutions. The requirements below reflect those changes which became effective for new students beginning Fall 2016. The changes increased the hours of mathematics and physical/life sciences at the community college level in order to better replicate the courses freshman and sophomore students are taking at a four-year university. This results in the likelihood of a student not completing all of the IAI General Education Core Curriculum at the community college, but completing post-transfer instead.
Program and/or Course Requirements:
The header for each group indicates the number of HOURS and/or COURSES that are needed from each for this degree.
