Pharmacy Technician

66% of adults in the United States use prescription drugs, and many rely on them for assistance with chronic illness and pain management. Pharmacy technicians perform a central role in the preparation and delivery of these prescription drugs and products to patients. Pharmacy technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists by receiving and refilling prescriptions, preparing and labeling medication containers, and acting as a liaison between the pharmacist, doctor, and patient.

This certificate program teaches students the fundamentals of medical terminology, pharmacology, and customer service. This certificate program also prepares students with the training, education, and skills necessary to pass the licensing exam available from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and being entry-level employment in the pharmacy technician profession.
