Learn How to Make a T-shirt Quilt with OCC Class

T-shirt quilts are popular keepsakes, and you can learn how to make them by enrolling in Olney Central College’s quilting class.

In addition to teaching traditional quilting techniques this fall, Barbara Thomann is inviting a guest instructor who will be sharing tips for making a T-shirt quilt and assisting students in the process.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in making a T-shirt quilt, whether they want to do it now or in the future,” Thomann said. “We encourage anyone who is interested to join.”

Students can work on their own T-shirt quilt during the class or participate in a group project.

During the 16-week course, students also will learn machine piecing quilt techniques and how to put the blocks together to form their quilts. Topics covered include rotary cutting, binding, borders and seams. A list of needed materials will be distributed during the first class meeting.

NCPD N115 Quilting will meet in Room 109 at the West Richland Center in Noble from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, starting Aug. 22.

To register or for more information, contact OCC Student Services at 618-395-7777. The cost for the class is just $25.
