Quilting Class Starting January 8

FCC is offering an 8-week quilting class beginning January 8 in Fairfield.  The class will meet on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:10 pm in Room 23 of the Richard L. Mason Building.  Gayla Templeman will be the instructor, and the class will run through March 2.

The 1-credit class is open for both beginners and advanced quilters.  Gayla Templeman is excited about the class and looks forward to sharing her passion for quilting with others.   Students will make a Disappearing 4 Patch quilt over the 8-week course (block sample shown below).

Students should bring the following sewing supplies to class:

-A working sewing machine

-Sewing machine accessories, such as bobbins and ¼” piecing foot or a regular foot

-1 yard each of 4 coordinating fabrics of students’ choice

-1 1/3 yard of coordinating fabric for border

-1 large spool of white or tan thread (whichever matches fabric best)

-1 pair of fabric scissors

-Straight pins

-Seam ripper

-45 mm rotary cutter, mat and ruler

 

With the PM Tuition Reduction for in-district students, the quilting class will cost $20 for tuition and $32 for fees payable to Frontier Community College.  Tuition is waived for senior adults age 60 or older, and they pay only the $32 fees.
