FCC Students Electing New Student Trustee for 2018-2019 Year

Frontier Community College (FCC) students will elect a student representative to the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District 529 Board of Trustees in November.  Students interested in serving should pick up an informational packet located in the Student Services Building on the FCC campus.  The informational packet must be filed with the Assistant Dean of Student Services starting October 19 during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes:  1) a notice of intent to file, 2) a biographical information form to be used for media purposes, and 3) two letters of recommendation: 1 personal recommendation letter and 1 recommendation letter from an FCC faculty member.  All informational packets must be completed and returned to Student Services no later than 4:30 p.m., Monday, November 6.

Students wishing to become FCC’s representative to the IECC board must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student at FCC at the time of election.
  2. Be enrolled as a student of FCC for the duration of the term of service (April 2018 – March 2019).
  3. Meet other qualifications as may be defined by IECC policy or State of Illinois law.

The FCC student representative will be seated on the IECC Board of Trustees in April 2018 and will serve a one-year term attending monthly board meetings.

Students will cast their votes electronically between November 27-30, and FCC will announce the new student representative during the first week of December.
