Phi Theta Kappa Membership Forms Available in Student Services

Phi Theta Kappa, the National honor society, serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students. When students become Phi Theta Kappa members, they have many opportunities for recognition and scholarships. Any full-time students who earned a 3.5 GPA during the Fall Semester 2017 or last Spring Semester 2017 are eligible to become members of Phi Theta Kappa.  Students who qualify should pick up the membership form in the Student Services Office in Main Hall.  There is a one-time membership fee of $70.  Students should submit the membership form and the fee to the Business Office by March 2, 2018.

Wabash Valley College is pleased to announces its Honors List for Fall Semester 2017.  To be eligible for the CEO’s Honors List, a student must have a GPA of 3.90—4.0 based on a 4.0 scale and must have been enrolled for at least twelve (12) semester hours for the Fall Semester.

WADI Scholarship Applications Available at WVC

The Wabash Valley College Financial Aid Office has announced that one WADI Scholarship per county in the amount of $1150 is to be made available to income-eligible students in each of the following counties:  Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Saline, Wabash, Wayne, and White for use during the 2018-2019 school year.  Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office.  Deadline is 5:00 p.m., April 26, 2018.

A $500 scholarship awarded by The Illinois Sheriff’s Association.  Applicant must be a permanent Illinois Resident.  Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office or at www.ilsheriff.org. Applications must be returned to the Sheriff’s Office in the county where you reside. Deadline is March 15, 2018.

Homecoming Celebrated at WVC

Wabash Valley College celebrated Homecoming 2018 on Saturday, February 3, with coronation of King and Queen at halftime of the WVC-Lake Land men’s game.  Austin Woods of Mt. Carmel, representing Collegiate Farm Bureau, was crowned Homecoming King; and Christy Haase, of Mt. Carmel, also representing Collegiate Farm Bureau, was crowned Homecoming Queen.

Free GED Test Prep Classes at WVC

Wabash Valley College is pleased to announce the upcoming Free GED Prep Classes which will be offered at Wabash Valley College.  The classes will be offered from March 13-May 3 and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Main Hall Room 202 at Wabash Valley College.

WVC Library Continues its Service to the Community Through Digitization Projects

After the completion of scanning and editing of the WVC yearbooks, Commencement programs, archives, and 105 years of the MCHS yearbook, WVC Library staff have begun four new digital projects.  Current projects include documenting the MCHS Boys’ Basketball Team’s journey to the State Finals, the WVC Baseball Team’s trip to the NJCAA World Series, WVC Men’s Basketball scorebooks and photos, and the Edwards County/West Salem High School yearbooks.
